What To Expect From Island Living
Privacy, romance, adventure, and nature abound.
The adventure of getting out to your own island by boat and the sense of accomplishment once you're there is just the beginning of the contentment you will feel with island life.
The privacy is unmatched. Crystal clear water, the ever changing character of the lake, breathtaking views, and unspoiled beauty surround you. Picture a loon paddling by with her chick perched on her back, a deer, or maybe even a moose walking right in your back yard.
My wife, son and I love our life on Little Barndoor Island. We have spent twenty years enjoying the beauty of island living. We enjoy very special rewards. You can too.
Gem Island, Tuftonboro
"We wouldn't trade our life on Treasure Island for anything. The memories we have are priceless. It's our little piece of paradise."
- Rod & Claudette Gammon
Feel at ease knowing that if your children lose their way, it won't be long before they'll turn up at a neighbor's who will help them get pointed in the right direction home. Your pets will enjoy the freedom of exploring too, without any mishaps with automobiles.
There's swimming, water skiing, sailing, and snorkeling. Go fishing and catch "Walter", that huge trout. Set out to explore the center of your island and pick blueberries along the way.
Maybe you'll be in the mood to just hang out at the water's edge reading a good book or taking a quiet afternoon siesta. Even daydreaming is better when you are out on an island.
A Boathouse
The specific of islands is not escape, but return. They are no longer so much a means of getting away from it all as getting back to it all; Of returning to a life made to man's natural measure; Free from things too big, too fast, too material.
After studying the lake's chart, you'll want to go to dinner by boat or take the kids and go for ice cream. Many restaurants have convenient boat slips.
Cruise slowly in your boat while watching that incredible sunset. On July Fourth, see the fireworks better than anyone; from your seat on the front porch.
Fall asleep dreaming of what adventure tomorrow will hold. There is always so much to do and to see, especially if you love nature and the lake.
The search for our perfect island home is how Island Real Estate began. Back in the 70's no one carried island real estate exclusively. We had to comb through thousands of listings among many real estate agents. When we did find an island listing, the agents were not able to answer all the questions we had about island living.
This began our mission to know everything about island property.
Island Real Estate sells only non-bridged island homes, cottages, and land. We are educated about island living and we understand the pride and emotional attachment that comes with island ownership.
I invite you to call our office with any questions you might have about island property. We are dedicated to helping you find your special island home, cottage or property.
